Every year, rainbows envelop the internet on June 1 to kick off Pride Month but conversations of support for LGBTQ2S+ Canadians often don’t go much further. For many people and corporations, the commitment begins and ends on that day with the posting of rainbow emojis on Twitter and flags in storefront windows.
At North, we strive to go further.
Pride is more than a feeling, a parade or a slogan. It’s a year-long, lifelong pledge to our sisters, brothers, friends, clients and colleagues to embrace allyship and welcome diversity and intersectionality in all its forms.
Today, at the midpoint of Pride Month, we commit to doing more in our diversity and inclusion journey. This includes our trans, genderqueer, nonbinary and two-spirit Canadian family of which we are members and allies, and who are often left out of the Pride dialogue.
This Pride and all year long, North celebrates and uplifts all sexuality and gender identities.
